Hi, Just wondering if anyone else can help me. i have a 07 Santa fe, she broke down two weeks ago and i have been told the big end bearing is gone and she needs a whole new engine. Can anyone tell me what would cause this. She was only fully serviced six weeks ago, new timing belt etc fitted. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

 

A lot of things could cause that. How often was the oil changed over its life? Did you use Hyundai filters or aftermarket? Has it ever overheated? Did you tow with it?
