1993 Hyundai Transmission, BIG Problem...
The Transmission shop has now had our 1993 Elantra for over a month. The final consensus is IT'S THE ENGINES FAULT that the rebuilt transmissions they keep putting into our Elantra won't work right. According to the mechanic the lower engine crank keeps damaging the rebuilds they keep putting into the car.
Any other rebuilt transmission experiences, good or bad that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 1993 Hyundai Transmission, BIG Problem...
several things have gone wrong.
Certain Rebuilt Parts were installed more than once due to possibly being defective.
The Car's original problem was it would not go into reverse. After two weeks the first rebuilt was finished and the car would shift quite nicely but made a high revving whirring sound when accelerating. I think the culprit was a torn bushing which was causing some part to spin too fast???
The latest problem is once again the car won't go into reverse and the transmission pump is the suspected culprit. They've been shipped two (and also installed) transmission pumps already and have two more coming today. They are about to give up if the transmission pump doesn't solve the problem.
