Default No Driving Lights??

We always leave the headlights and driving lights on while driving (the setting on the stick with two head lights facing each other). Yesterday when my wife left, I noticed that the driving lights were not lit. This morning I had her switch through all light settings and the driving lights never lit up.
She has the car so I can’t check anything out but do you think there is a fuse just for the driving lights??
I searched through the manual for fuses to see what each one covers but I cannot find that information.
Any suggestions of what to check first when she gets home?

What year Santa Fe?

It could be a few things:

1 Are you sure the driving light switch is on? The driving light switch is not on the stalk like the headlights. The driving lights switch is on the lower left side of the dash. There is a small light on the switch to indicate of they are on.

2. Are you sure the high beams weren't accidently turned on? The driving lights go off when the high beams are on. Pulling the stalk towards the steering wheel makes the high beams flash but do not stay on once you let go of the stalk. However the high beams stay on when you push the stalk away from the steering wheel and towards the dash. Pull the stalk towards the steering wheel to make sure the are off.

Oh Geezzzz

Now I think I remember that there is a separate switch on the dash for the driving lights…..not a switch on the stick on the left coming off of the column…..is that right?

If so, I’m gonna have to take the Santa Fe away from the wife for turning it off. I need more time with her anyway….the Santa Fe…NOT the wife!

Ok...now looking at the manual (RTFM) I see and now remember they call the lights that I'm refereing to as Fog Lights (I'm used to fog lights being a yellow color not white light) which has a switch on the dash....bet that's what it is!

Again, what year Santa Fe? It's probably easy to accidently bump the switch with a knee or something when entering or exiting the vehicle.

Correct, the stalk on the left of the column operates the headlights (turning the end of the stalk), the turn signals (moving the stalk up and down), and the high beams (pushing the stalk away or pulling the stalk towards the steering wheel).

2009 and yes you're right I must be talking about the (as they call them) fog lights but I keep forgetting since they are white and not yellow.

Thanks...pretty sure that's the problem!

Those "extra" lights can be called either driving lights or fog lights. The terms are basically used interchangeably now. But you are correct, true fog lights are yellow while white lights would be considered driving lights.
