Default Oil and Filter suggestions?

Our Santa Fe didnt come with an owners manual, what is the Manufacturer spec'd oil weight.

Also what filter does it use?

I know almost all of the Kia's and Hyundai 4 cylinders use the same one, but not sure about the Santa Fe, is it a cartridge?

Thanks a billion

For future reference, you should always list the year of the car and what engine it has when you post questions. Not everyone reading these may know your previous posts.

I remember that you posted previously that you just bought a 2009 SE. That year/model came with the 3.3L V6.

That engine requires the cartridge filter. The exact one depends on the type of housing as there are 2 sizes. I believe in 2009 all took the shorter one (Hyundai part number 26320-3C250) but check first to be sure.

As for a owners manual, I will email you a PDF version of the manual.

The correct oil weight you should use is 5W-20 or 5W30. Since you live in a very hot area, I'd suggest 5W-30.

Thanks and sorry, yes its a 2009 SE 3.3L AWD

I appreciate the visual aid and the offer for the pdf, should I PM you my email?

thanks again

EDIT: as far as the weather here, yes its very hot, but only in the summer and only during the afternoon. This is the "high Desert" and nights and mornings can drop to freezing. Usually the temperature delta between night and day temperature is ~30 degrees F

Check your "captionofiron" email for the PDF.

If it get's down to below freezing you may want to go with the 5W-20 then.
