Default Potential new 2004 Santa Fe owner

Hi everyone,

Here's the post from a new potential Hyundai owner. I saw a 2004 Santa Fe AWD with 105k miles for only $2500, clean title. The current owner only owns it for 9 days and she said she wants something smaller. Are there any particular problems with the Santa Fe that I should check for? I will go for a test drive tomorrow and take it to the mechanic for inspection later. The price is just too tempting. Thanks in advance.

Nothing that I'm aware of. The only thing I would be worried about is the timing belt. It needs replacing every 60K miles. Can you get verification that it was replaced ay 60K? If not, I'd change it ASAP. That's about a $600 job so factor that cost in. Also, if it was changed at 60K miles it will need to be changed at 120K, just 15K miles away.

Actually it has to be replaced every 96,000kms or possibly every 60,000 miles. I had two 2002 Elantras that had it done at the 96,00km service

Ahhh, yeah, that's what I said. "K" means "thousand" not "KM" for Kilometers". And since the original poster was talking about miles not kilometers, 60K means 60,000 miles.
