Santa Fe 2008 switching off
Hi could someone help with the following fault on a Hyundai Sante Fe 2.7 V6 that switches off while driving, no fault codes present. I have changed the Cam and Crank Sensors and had a look at the main relay for heating of points and swapped the fuel pump relay with the air con relay. What i did notice is that if the key remains on for about 3 mins the vehicle will not start immediately but if i switch the key off and then on again it would start. While driving for almost half hour it would suddenly cut off and if you start immediately it will fire up. And will run till the next episode. It happens every 2 days sometimes after a week. Its a baffling fault. All actual values are within spec. Even checked under Immobilizer and no faults present. Does the management light illuminate on the dash, in this vehicle even if i pull out one of the sensors that light does not come on.
I have found that when a series of crazy things take place with no definite relationship, there is a good possibility of an intermittent ground connection,,,,,,,someplace.
A good place to start is any and all ground wires that connect from the engine to the sheet metal of the vehicle. There are ground wires inside the vehicle that could also be a part of the picture. Looking at them does nothing, they need to be loosened , moved around some and then retightened..
Let us know what you find, thanks.
