I wouldn't go through all the trouble, I'd get another car before I did all that. You have no idea what might need to be changed to go from 2.4 to 2.7. Transmission, exhaust, axles, suspension, computers...??? A waste of time and money.

Why don't you just get heads from a junkyard, have them rebuilt, and swap out the heads? Chances are the oil is going out the exhaust valves, that's what gets burned up. Get a heavy duty radiator, and a transmission cooler

Are you kidding me - a new Santa Fe valued at roughly 25K vs 1K (or less) to drop a bone yard engine in? If it's a 2.4L - no worries. But I really don't know what else is required for a 2.7L. Do you? That's what I'm trying to determine.

Do you have specifics on what would be required? Or, do you know where I can find that information?
