2001 gls - p0118 & clearing codes question
Getting code p0118 - no others.
Common solution seems to be to change the coolant sensor.
Hooked up scanner with cold engine - temp read 120.
Ran it for a bit and read a temp of -40.
RPM's also bounce around.
Could the problem be more than the sensor?

Got myself caught up in DIY overthink...
Changed the sensor - no trouble code.
Funny thing though, it is a 2001 (checked the VIN number), but the sensor was 2000. I thought only some European cars did the keep using last years parts til they run out stuff?
