Hi i have a 2001 sonata 4cyl lately it's been have an extremely weak idle at start and stopping at lights to the point were it shuts off. Also when i accelorate it hesitates or jerks and then suddenly cuts acceleration. The check engine light is NOT on. Please any help is greatly appreciated.

 

it might be ur EGR valve that wat was wrong with mine as u may kno 4 cly takes a little longer to shift between gear thats why is u try and step on the gas it jerks a lil

 

Have you scanned for codes anyway? If the CEL came on and then went out without you noticing there should be a code stored. Or maybe the bulb for the CEL is out. Does it come on when you first turn the key on?

 

The CEL was on but after a basic change of plugs and wires it corrected the random misfire code that it was showing but the car still isn't right. It's as if the throdel is hesitating even when u work the throttle from under the hood. Idk what's wrong so I just dropped it off at the dealer this morning giving up and letting a pro look at it.
