Default 2003 hyundai harmonic balancer

ok I need help. My harmonic balancer has gone out on my 2003 hyundai sonata. It's a 4 cylinder tank. I have gone to every auto store around here and none of them carry it nor can get it from their vendors. Does anyone have an idea where I can get it?

That's a tough one. Hmmm...maybe a Hyundai dealership parts department.

yea I was thinking that as well the crappy thing is they aren't open on the weekends around here. We will see tomorrow. The only issue is I was trying to find it at a lower cost but if they are the only ones to sell it that's what I will have to do.

Unfortunately, things like that are usually dealer-only. What you could do (if you don't mind waiting) is get the part number from a dealer and then order it cheaper online here: http://www.hyundaipartsonline.com

Good luck

EDIT ----------

Found it for you.
- Go to http://www.hyundaipartsonline.com
- Click on "Part Number?"
- Enter the following: Parts - Hyundai - 2003 - Sonata and click Go
- Under KEYWORD SEARCH enter Damper pulley
- The list will have the following:

Damper pulley
PULLEY-DAMPER - 2.4 liter
List Price : $168.59
Your Price : $135.89

Salvage yard? Yes, it won't last as long as a new one, but shouldn't cost as much either.

That's odd,,,, Put a bunch on the 2.7's, so we usually have that 1 on the shelf.. Don't recall putting a new 1 on the 2.4

Dealer can order from their depot..

2.4 also used in the Kia sister car, the Optima, so you might hit the Kia dealer too before you order.

The crankshaft damper is one part I would not buy used. It protects the crankshaft and buying a used one is risky in my opinion. However, yes, a salvage yard should have one for much cheaper.
