2003 Sonata turns over but doesn't start. I had a P1529 code earlier. I know this is just a request from the transmission computer to throw a code. I don't know if it is a symptom, but if I just step on the brake as I have done for years, it won't shift out of park. I found that I have to push hard on the brake to shift.

If the brake switch is or has failed, would that cause the car to not fire?
