Default 2004 Automatic 6 Cyl wnt switch to 2nd gear...

I have an 04 Sonata, problem seems to be it will not go into 2nd gear, keep in mind it is an automatic. It will hit 3000 RPM's then start all over again, once it hits 3000 I get up to 20MPh then it drops me down to 10MPh and I have to rev it back to 3k, but it will not go further than that. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks...

MIL illuminated ?

The place to start, have it scanned... fluid level, not that it matters too much, box only does what it is told by the controller (PCM/TCM)..

MIL = Malfunction Indicator Light. More commonly known as the CEL = Check Engine Light.

97K miles is WAY too much on the fluid. It should be changed every 30K miles.

After programing, disconnect battery for couple minutes to reset adaptive, hopefully ATF is good and hot when program done so right adaptive reset, they can do the initial learn start-up before releasing car.
