2011 Sonata stuck key problem
Does anyone have problems getting the key stuck in the ignition? At first it happened only a couple of times since I bought the car new in July. Now it's happening every time I get in the car. It's going in the shop soon for the steering recall, so I'll have it looked at then. Is a loaner included as part of the service if I don't take it back to the dealer where I bought it?
I don't know the answer to the loaner question, but I had the same problem with my 2007 Elantra. The key would get stuck at ACC when I tried to turn it off. They had to replace the ignition cylinder for me. It turned out that I was the primary cause of the problem, as I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand, and I wasn't turning the key with sufficient force to move it pass ACC because it hurt me to twist my wrist to the left. This was one reason why I upgraded to a Sonata SE which has a push button ignition.
I brought my car in yesterday for the recall, and it took maybe 90 minutes, which included washing the car.

2011 YF Sonata.. add a job to your repair order...
Job 1 -> 097 steering recall
Job 2 -> Key cannot be removed from key cylinder at times
Job 2 will likely end with shifter assembly replacement.. there is a slot in the plastic that a pin slide up and down and touch micro switch, they were having dealer open the slot, but I understand the part is now revised, and there is a date code on the part.. certain date forward is new part it good,,,, earlier date is bad,, order again till you get new dated part... I have the date wrote down, I'll have to post it Wed sometime..
