Default 2015 Sonora smells like burning oil

I have a 2015 Sonota limited 2.4 every few months it’s a quart low on oil and one in awhile you can faintly smell oil burning. What could the issue be?

If you look at the engine , can you see any oil that might be leaking from the top of the engine and leaking down onto the exhaust manifold ,providing smoke and burning oil smell?

I’ve looked all over and see no oil leaking any where.

Mine just started doing the same with a little under 80K miles. It's a noticeable smell and the oil level was dropping rapidly (about a quart every 200 miles). The Theta II is known for having issues with oil and knocking. Take it to the dealer and request an oil consumption test. They will top you off and have you come back in 1000 miles to check the burn rate. If it's too much they will do a 24 hour soak to clean the rings, then top you off again and come back in another 1000 miles. If that doesn't fix it you'll be getting a new engine covered by the lawsuit. It's a pain, but at least Hyundai is taking care of people.

There have been issues with the Theta engine and Hyundai has a procedure to run some checks to determine if replacement is required.
Don't wait too long to have this checked out.!

Default Leaking oil

Took to the dealer and had to pay for them to tell me it was the valve cover gasket. Would this be covered under the lifetime engine warranty?

unfortunately, the lawsuit and lifetime warranty only covers the block and rotating assembly. Now if the car continues to have issues then bring it back and make them work on it more.
