Default 2017 camshaft position sensor

I just got done fixing a broken wire leading to my intake camshaft position sensor and found that an animal had been chewing on stuff. When the
outside wire is chewed off, the idle goes up to about 1250 and the acceleration is not as perky as usual. Now the idle is back down to just above
500 rpm and it has very high acceleration - it was a code 0340. So the engine check light is now off.

I would like to find someone who knows how to either get the Intermotor pigtails, someone who can make them (or fake them somehow) so I can
simply replace all three wires leading to the sensor with a new pigtail. I can't find a harness yet in a junkyard or Pick a Part. I know there
are entire junk cars out there but I already have two cars, and no room for a third.

My car is running great now but I just want to prepare for the future. I might have to pay the 30.00 for a sensor so I can design a harness myself. The
problem is I just don't have any time right now. Maybe at the end of this month, I'll take a day off work.

Thanks.

Any help getting a camshaft position sensor pigtail appreciated. I'll pay you if you find one. The dealers have asked for $2000.00 which is
crazy.

I live in the LA area.

Due to my recent work, I just don't have a lot of time to put into this.

Is it safe to assume you are not affected by the lockdown or you would have plenty of time to look at it ?
Hope everything works out for you , stay safe and be patient and careful.

Default Lockdown

Hi hanky, I live just east of la county, 45 miles from lax.

Most of us here are business as usual, wake up at dawn if u want eggs. I'm not affected much.

Problem is, I just have to work extra hours larely., so it's hard.

But I will spring for the $30 and buy a sensor, then design a pigtail.

I guess I was being a cheapskate. 30 dollars is not much to spend on the r&d to make the cable. Who knows if I make a few I could recoup the cost on eBay. I'm pretty solid with basic electrical work.

I think you made the right decision..

Not sure about the right decision regarding , "Business as usual". We don't know who has it because they don't know they have it for a certain period of time and that is how it grows in leaps and bounds. Take care.
