Default click noise near the gas pedal 06+

I have a 07 GLS manual

Do you guys hear a click noise or sound when you start to go forward for the first time after the enginehas started?

I hear this sound near the gas pedal at about 15-20mph almost1or 2secondsafter I shift it into the second gear.

According to the manual, it says "A click sound may be heard in the engine compartment when the vehicle begins to move after the engine is started. These conditions are normal and indicate that the anti-lock brake system (electronic stability control) is functioning properly." 2-12

It doesn't sound nice like when you click on the mouse button for your computer.

It only happensonce after the ignition. (only once when I go forward for the first time after the enginehas started)
Everything is fine after that. I'm still trying to find out if this is normal

I'm loving every bit of this car so far.

Have you ever figured out what the problem was?? I've been dealing with something similar ever since I bought my 08 Sonata... Went to the dealership and they said they can't hear anything but I've also had couple of my friends hear that same clicking noise (only when the engine starts going from about 1st to 2nd gear). It's frustrating!!! Any advice????

It's actually the ABS kicking in. It might sound weird but it's normal.

I agree. That clicking noise is the ABS self-check. Totally natural and normal. And from one day to the other it may sound a bit different, and at a slightly different speeds also.... But it's there, should be there, and good that it's there....

I aslo agree that it's probably the ABS valves clicking during the self-sheck.

Great, thanks!! You know what bothers me though?? - that noone in the service dept knew what I was talking about. Shouldn't they know right away what the noise is if it is somethning normal?? Instead they did all kinds of tests on my transmission... Thank you!!!

You shouldn't be surprised, adziek, the pinheads there (well, ummm... sorry, not ALL are pinheads, I admit) can hardly diagnose a REAL problem.... They didn't realize what you're talking about, cause they don't drive Sonatas, can't afford it, probably....
