Default Disable automatic window (Sonata 2010)

Hi all,

I have a 2010 Sonata, and I really dislike the automatic driver-side window. I find it almost impossible to adjust the window exactly the way I want, because the "auto" feature keeps taking over and fully opening or fully closing the window.

Is there a way to disable this feature and make the driver-side window operate in the same way as all the other windows?

Thanks,
Greg

Not that I'm aware of. It just takes learning a delicate touch. Push just hard enough to open the window but not all the way down to put it in auto-down mode.

Thanks for the reply. Controlling the "down" isn't so difficult for me, but it still usually goes down a bit too far, and I want to move the window up just a notch ... but when I pull the button "up", it always sends the window all the way to the top. {aarrrgh!}

Anyway, thanks again for the comment!

I'm not aware of any way to disable that feature either. Maybe it will get better as the switch gets worked in a bit. On my 2006, I didn't even realize it had the auto-up feature until after a couple months of ownership. I bought it used when it was about 1.5 years old.

Or maybe the switches used on the 2010 are different than used on the 2006. I know they redid the interior for 2009 but I don't recall if that extended to the door panels. I guess it probably did.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully I'll get used to it in time :-)
