EGR Valve Fail

EGR Valve Fail
Sympotoms - Low, rough idle, stalls at stop. (I have to give it gas to keep it running at stop), black smoke out exaust. - - This only happens sometmes, otherwise runs normal. My guess is that it happens when the temp. is high.
Codes came up as misfire and EGR Valve so I changed the spark plugs and coils (no wires on this car). Still has same symptoms.
I purchased and EGR Valve - Do I need a the EGR Valve Temp. Sensor, too? Opinions?
Car is a 2000 Hyundai Sonata 4-cyl
