Got rough acceleration and noise from the airfilter area like the exhaust blowing back? P0403 code came on. Blocked the valve , car ran well for 30 ks and error came back. Fiddled around, noise went and car ran well again for 30 ks. Error code again, dealer replaced valve but still rough acceleration at low speeds and thud phut noise around airfilter. Not getting that secondary boost when climbing a long hill anymore? Must I replace the solenoid? Any ideas?

 

Dealer says the noise is from the driveshafts? R6500 to replace.
Manual says noisy transmission could be oil or mounts /
Any ideas out there?

 

Back to EGR problems. P0403 says EGR "circuit " ? What is the circuit, electrical or vacuum? I have power going into the solenoid when switching on ignition , 3.7 v , but have no idea how to test if the solenoid itself is working.
New solenoid cost R3500 here !!!!
Anybody know of cheaper ?
