Default Help Removing Active Air Flap System

I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and I'm getting the 'Check Active Air Flap System' message. I was able to remove the front bumper and I can see the air flap system. Right now the flaps are open. When I turn on the car, I can see the flap trying to close but it looks like it's getting stuck somewhere and doesn't close all the way (gets about 1/3 closed). Turning on the A/C I can see the flaps moving but again it doesn't fully move open or close.

I'm trying to remove the unit so I can diagnose the problem further, but I can't figure out how to remove it. I took off the two side 10mm screws but it doesn't pull straight out. Is there more screws that I need to remove in order to pull the unit off or some other part I need to remove first?

Thanks for all the help!

I have the exact same problem. 2012 they want 1100.00 to fix it. The car has 192k on it. I am going to try myself. Did you have any luck?

Thanks!

There’s 4 bolts holding the AAF on. Then one wiring harness. If you have the bumper off the hard parts over
