Can anyone tell me what spec transmission fluid Hyundai uses. I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata v6 automatic transmission. I am looking to get my tranny flushed, and don't really have the money the Hyundai dealership is asking (200.00), and people keep telling me it is super important to get Hyundai Spec fluid in it. Whats the difference between Hyundai Spec and one I am able to purchase (if there is any that is practically the same thing)? Thank you

It says it is Hyundai SP-III compatible. You should be fine.

 

Your car is a 2002, so I guess you're not worried about the warranty too much. But if the car was still under warranty, I would bite the bullet and let the dealer do it. You don't want to void the warranty using non specified products.

 

I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata that i bought used about a month ago. I need to know if anyone knows which type of transmission fluid it will take, i have a small leak in the front gasket thing..so i need to refill it until i can afforf to fix it.
