Anyone know if this is an electrical problem or am I looking for a cable?

I Have a 98 Model and I have the same problem except my Speedo still works somethimes. Seems at the moment it is working 50% of the time. It just seems to die but if I accelerate hard it brings it back to life for a short time before it dies again. This makes me think it could be a lose wire or cable but am unsure where to look or what to look for. Anyone have any idea's?.
