i have two sonatas a 2003 with the 2.7 and a 2006 with the 3.3 i know the 03 has too have the timming belt changed at 60000 miles i only have 35000 on it now the 06 has a timeing chain so that should be ok .i have almost 37000 on it but i was thinking of buying a santafae but i notice most of the ones at the dealer have 2.7 v6 in them.do the newer ones still have a belt in them?

 

Looks like the 2.7 is a timing belt, while the 3.3 is a timing chain, according to the hmaservice site.

 

The 2.7 in the Santa Fe has a belt.
