I have a 2006 Sonata 3.3 liter. When I put it in Drive or Reverse, it makes a loud noise, so I took it to AAMCO, the guy said he thought it was the torque converter and for a large fee they would dismantle and diagnose. He also told me in that case, then they would have to do a complete rebuild because on that model you can't just can't just replace or repair the torque converter. He suggested that I drive it til it gets real bad. Other than that it runs fine.
Could flushing it maybe help? Any suggestions?
