Exclamation Winshield washer pump problem!!!

Okay i have a 2001 sonata, the winshield washer pump didnt work when i got the car. first thing i thought was to check the fuses, i checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood, none were for the winshield washer pump that i saw. so recently i decided to get a new pump. i took the old one out cleaned the tank out and installed the new pump, filled up the tank and tried it but it didnt work, so i checked to see if the pump was getting power, and it was not getting power. i traced the wire for about a foot until it joined with some other wires in the factory harness, but coming from the same spot is some wires connecting to a block. did i miss a fuse, do i need to replace this "block", or do i need to run some new wires?

Obviously you didn't find the fuse, for sure there is one. I can't find the diagram or I would try to tell you. Maybe somebody else can help you.

Fuse #26 under the dash feeds the washer, but it also feeds the windshield wipers. If the wipers are working then the fuse is OK. That leaves a broken wire or a bad switch in the column. The switches are known to go bad on these cars.

yes the wipers work, i do remember seeing a winshield wiper fuse, but it was fine obviously. the switch in the column still turns on the wipers so i dont think that is the problem.

It's a multi-function switch with different contacts and wires involved. No, the washer part could still be bad without affecting the wiper function.

what is the best way to see if that is the problem? should i take the switch out and check everything out. or should i go ahead and change the little block that i believe is connected to the pump?
