Default 03 Tib GT faulty temp reading

Well I am new to the forum and to Tiburons. My problem is my temp gauge intermittantly pegs out hot. I have replaced the thermostat and the temp sensor. I have discovered that when it pegs if I turn the car off and right back on the temp reads perfect.
I have come to the conclusion and after checking the temp with a thermomator it is in fact not overheating. The fans come on as advertised and when the AC is in. It apears to have good flow. I am convinced that it is an electrical problem, but was wondering if anyone has had this happen. I am thinking either the ecm is going bad or the gauge cluster itself. It gave no codes on the computer either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just to update my situation I took it to the dealer today and of course the car would not do it. They are some what convinced that if anything it is the gauge cluster. I would still appreciate any help advice or anything that could possibly help.

Thanks

I would say that if you have any way of recording what it's doing (cameral, cell phone, etc.) to try to record it when it's happening, then show it to the dealer. It sounds like they re willing to do the cluster but may need a little more convincing. Is this a warranty issue? (Is the car still in warranty?)

remove temp sensor wire for cluster in engine compartment, ground wire and check guage to see if it goes to hot, maybe also faulty temp sensor.
