Default 03 Tiburon Losing power every 3 or 4 seconds

Hello all,

I have an 03 Tiburon GT. I bought it used and drove it home and went through 1.5 gas tanks of gas with no issue. Now, it is losing power while driving. I will do my best to describe it. While accelerating from 0-70, there is no loss of power. As in, if I keep solid pressure on the pedal and am accelerating, it doesn't have an issue. However, once I get to cruising speed it feels like I left off the gas pedal and then floor it (but in reality, I am just keeping steady pressure on the gas pedal). If I set the cruise control it is VERY noticeable every 3 or 4 seconds as the car tries to correct its speed to match what I set on the cruise control. It happens with the cruise or without it but it is just more noticeable while using the cruise control.

Additional Info; There is not a check ending light on.

Thanks,
Danno

Not knowing very much regarding the vehicle's maintenance history maybe this suggestion may help and it is cheap and easy to do.

Stop at an auto supply store and purchase a bottle of Dry-Gas, that contains Isopropyl alcohol ONLY not Methanol.
(Methanol is not good for the exhaust system converter).

If there is the possibility of water in the fuel tank and filter , this should help to get rid of it.
Let us know if this corrected the problem, thanks.

I have that currently in this tank. I am 1/4 through the tank and no change. If this is the issue my son will be happy because it won't cost much!

I am going to Ohm out the throttle position sensor tonight, as well. I have replaced the PCV valve already.

We would hope if there was a noticeable problem with sensor you want to check, it might produce a code directing us to that area.. But you might just find something there.

If you can, some places will check your vehicle for any codes. If they don't show any present ask if they can check for pending codes or history codes.
