my tiburon quit while driving like the key had been turned off.now it wont start. checked plugs and fuel, both are working. dont know what else to try...

 

How many miles on the car? Has the timing belt even been changed?

 

about 160,000. i dont think so. but i bought it used. it never gave no warning, just quit, and now it will not start.

 

My guess is the timing belt snapped or stretched and jumped a tooth or two. And since you were driving at the time, it probably means the valves hit the pistons. That's what I check first. If the belt is still together and the timing correct, have it replaced ASAP and then look into the cam position and crank position sensors.
