I am about to remove the front spindle assemble to replace a bad wheel bearing. I read the Chilton's manual and see it requires special tools.
I have access to a hydraulic press,but don't have any special tools for handling,pressing. Any suggestions as to whether I should take it to a shop or attempt to do myself. I'm also going to replace the rotor,since it is wornout.

You have to separate the ball joint, you need a tool for that. You've already got a press. All that's left is knowing how to use it. Up to you whether or not you're comfortable doing it.

 

Thanx for your imput. I was concerned with how I was going to hold unit in press,and since I didn't have any of the specialty tools listed in manual. I guess I'll find out,when I get it out of car. Tom
