I have a 05 Tibby GT.But there is a problem with the stereo. I want to change out the stereo, and have tried myself. I have purchased 3 different models and nothing. Well...I connect everything, via a wire adapter and it turns on and will stay on. It even accepts and spits out CDs regularly, but there is no sound what so ever! All the wires are connected but there is just no sound coming out of any of the speakers.
I thought it might have been the adapter, so I spliced the wires together correctly, but nothing still.
I am now on my 3rd brand stereo and NOTHING!!
Everything works when I connect the factory radio. What could be causing this? I am at a loss...[:@]

 

Do you get sound with the original stereo?

 

yes, everything works just fine when i connect the factory stereo. i want to take it to a pro, but i dont want to pay if the outcome is the same.

 

My guess is there is no signal from the aftermarket HU to the factory amp to turn it on.
