Default 2005 Tucson

I have an analyzer that can detect, read, and even erase codes, BUT it cannot "see" the problem I am having. In the dash by speed and tach is RED light saying "AIR BAG". What is all this about? Its NOT the YELLOW one that comes on when NO one is in passenger seat but a RED one on IN the dash.

Engine codes are different from air bag codes. Your scanner can not read air bag codes. You have to go to a dealer to have that looked into.

Default Ai Bag

Thanks..I was afriad you were going to say that. I HATE going to a dealer where its going to cost 50$ just to walk in the door, then the analyzer fee, and then FIX probelm fee which will be to erase the damn code as there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I use it once every two or three weeks until winter when snow occurs. Other than that it sits in a garage. So, now for no reason, no collision, not even a bump in the thing and the air bag has trouble, makes me rethink about my NEXT vehicle purchase.

Lack of use is just as hard (or harder) on a vehicle as heavy use. Things like clock springs for the air bag system can break easily when they sit for long periods of time and then are moved. That happens on all cars, not just Hyundai.
