Default 2006 Gear **** removal

Hi all. I bought my first Hyundai today. 2006 Tucson with some minor repairs to be done like replacing the gear ****. Only thing is, I can't get the thing off.

I can't find any info on this model specifically so I'm relying on someone here to guide me please. To me it looks like I should just be able to turn it counter clockwise but it will not budge.

Cheers

You will have to be a little more detailed about this gear ****??
Is this a nut on the steering column?
Or a nut on the wheel axle?
What does the gear **** do?
And where is it located?
What year and model is it?

I used to own a 2006 Tucson.

You didn't say if this was an automatic or manual but I'm going to assume automatic since a manual trans in the Tucson is a rarity.

It's very easy. At the base of the handle there is a small, oval cover with a tiny notch in the edge. Use a tiny flathead screwdriver to remove the cover. Under the cover is 2 Phillips screws. Remove the screws and the handle pulls up off the shaft.

This should help:

Thanks, but I have a manual. I can't see any fasteners or clips so I assume it should just twist off.
