2025 Tuscon Hybrid --- Gas Mileage
Hi All,
I just bought a new 2025 Tuscon Hybrid about 10 days ago. Not many miles on it yet --- only about 600. I bought the lowest trim level offered -- the BLUE trim level. This is also supposed to be the trim level that gets the best gas mileage (MPG). The EPA rating for the BLUE trim level on the hybrid is 38 MPG. I don't beat on the car and I accelerate smoothly and I'm easy on the brakes.
Maybe I'm a little impatient so far but I'm a little disappointed in the mileage I'm getting so far. Maybe the mileage will get better as I put more mileage on the vehicle. I live in Arizona and I have the car in ECO Drive Mode (which is supposed to be the best for MPG). I'm only getting around 33 MPG pretty consistently. The 2nd day I had the car I was driving at an average speed of about 45 MPH and the dash showed my MPG was up around 41 !! I haven't seen close to that since Day 2.
Should I expect my MPG to get better over time ? I hope so ---- I was hoping to be somewhere around 40 MPG, based on my driving style.
Comments ?
Thanks,
Dennis

Our 22 hybrid with 50000 miles has a lifetime MPG of 31.2. Only one time has the car gotten close to 36 mpg. I have recorded every fillup on Fuelly.com, so the mpg is accurate. The actual mpg is 1 1/2 to 2 mpg lower then what the dash readout says.
