Default Can't understand Lane Keep Assist or the steering wheel symbol

Needing help understanding my new N Line Elite.

I can’t work out the lane keeping assist and the steering wheel symbol next to it on the dash. The lane keeping assist seems to switch between green and white randomly. There is no correspondence between the symbol swapping from white to green under no distinct circumstances or reason.

Similarly, the steering wheel symbol goes from white to green and back again for no reason.

I know that I can turn each of them off individually, but I don’t understand what they do.

Went for a drive tonight and tried with each one off and on but cannot tell the difference between them.

Live in a rural area where sometimes there are no left-hand line markings at all.

Any help or explanation would be great TIA

One of the best places to obtain an answer to your concern is , your owner's manual.
It usually explains what the system does and what it should and should not do.

I think when the car reaches 40 MPH the lane assist (steering wheel icon ) kicks in and when you reduce speed it will turn white again
