Please Help! 2006 Tucson Keeps Stalling-Dealer No Help
#12
Tuscon known issues.....hoseclamp at breather comes loose when engaged in gear. Some tps issues. Balancer issues sometimes ...hard turn puts load on power steering and balancer slips. Have had a couple pin tension issues at pcm causing weird codes . Most Tuscons trouble free other then on occasion.

Kinda (1) of the oldest in the TUCSON handbook...
Stalling when rolling up to stop ---> replace Throttle Position Sensor (if it is grey color plastic, replace it, new part is black)
Bucking on accell, look for air tube leak between throttle body and air flow meter, clamps revised back in late 2005/early 2006, those all should been done by now.
Battery drain, TSB for specific radio with excess parasitic draw, though aged battery not hold well to normal drains either.

2006 Tucson Stalls
I too have the stalling problem described with my 2006 Tucson, and the same frustrations and lack of help. I registered with Hyundai and got a case #, but they called and said that since the car has just over 100,000 miles, there is no warranty. They suggest I take it to the dealer, but offered no help or advice on what the problem might be. (even though I mentioned the dozens of other Tucson owners reported the exact same problem.) Has anyone resolved this problem by replacing the Throttle Postition Sensor, as sbr711 suggested on 8/5/10?

Your concerns match what I posted ?
What color is your TPS body ?? Grey--> THROW IT AWAY !! Replace it with the new black color part... been replacing them for 2 yr now.
Dealer should have this part in stock, maybe $40 (double check Monday) and 15 minutes of your time if you capable. You wont find any code... as it not occur 2 times in a row (2 consecutive key cycle)..
If your local Hyundai dont have, quick call to local Kia dealer will be in-line,,, or just go ahead and order at your local Hyundai dealer parts counter.

I had the TPS replaced yesterday in my 2006 Tucson as sbr711 advised and have not had a stall since. Had 2 stalls on the way to the auto shop, and about 8 the day before. Total part & labor was about $80. Thank you sbr711 for the heads up!

I had the same problem! After replacing the fuel pump it still did it! After 3 weeks of dead ends the problem was found. It is the relay in the fuse box under the hood. It turns out those relay boxes get so corroded underneath it makes ALL your relays make no contact. I have kept this engine like new and there is no answer as to why this happened. Right now on my truck (which is an 05) that is the only relay that went. To solve the problem, the fuel relay wiring had to be pulled out, and connected directly to the relay and zip tied to the engine compartment frame. It looks a little ugly, but you can hide it and now I dont have to worry about my Tucson dying on my 124 mile round trip commute
