Default Purge Control Valve

My check engine light came on a few days ago and I made an appointment with Hyundai to have it checked. I was lead to believe that the problem would be under warranty.....NOT TO BE.
I have a 2007 Tucson with only 47,000 miles and the diagnosis proved to be a Purge Control Valve part # 28910-22040.
The dealer wants $240.00 to do the work!!

I found the same part for less than $30.00.

So, my question, is this something that can be replaced by someone who is pretty mechanical?
Where is the PCV located on the 2.0L engine?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
LJ

Why would you think it's under warranty? Your car is more than 5 years old. The Bumper To Bumper warranty is only good for 5 years. Only the engine and trans are covered under the 10 year/100K mile warranty. The Purge Control Valve is part of the fuel system, not the drivetrain.

First, what was the code for the Check Engine Light? Are you sure it was a problem with the Purge Control Valve?

#17 in the pics below:

It's basically under the throttle body.

NovaResource, thanks for all the information. I only expected the warranty coverage because of the conversation with the Hyundai service rep I talked to on the phone.

I don't have the error code, but that is what the Service Rep told me and the Invoice (I had a recall preformed on the car) had the part# 28910-22040 listed as part needed.

Thanks again for your help.
