Default Tucson auto transmission problem

Hai Tucsonians,
My problem is the gear does not engage when I shift to D. According to the mechanic, the gear ECU located underneath the car has malfunction. Have you guys experience anything like this? My mileage is only 42,000km. It cost me more than $1000 to replace it. Can anyone advice me whom to refer to about this matter....I'm now not a proud owner of hyundai anymore.

Take it back to the dealer. It should still be under warranty.

you should have take it to the dealer first before taking it to the mechanic. your car is under warranty so you better take it back.

Thanks guys for the advice. I've send the car to the dealer and the mechanic is the the dealer's staff. The mechanic took the "power control unit" to Hyundai's Center to test and it wouldn't work. They could not even find the problem of the equipment. My worry is If I don't know the cause of the problem, I don't know what to avoid and this could happen again. According to the Center's rep, the unit is no more under warranty because it has exceeded the warranty period. i.e. more than two years. I've already replace it ( the warranty for the new unit is 6 months or 10,000km only.....hyundai has no confidence in their product) and PAID for it yesterday. I've already lost confidence with Korean cars. To avoid further issue, I've put the car for sale and thinking of buying a Honda or Toyota instead.

Thanks again. Bye.

p.s. Nova Resource, your car color looks like mine.
