Tuscon 2016 1.7 diesel - revving on its own when using clutch
Hi all,
Hoping for some help. I recently bought a 2016 1.7 diesel Tuscon. I've been having issues with the car revving when I depress the clutch to go down the gears. It's an intermittent issue but happens most journeys. It only seems to happen going down the gears when my other foot is on the break. The RPM goes up to anywhere from 1500 RPM to 2100 RPM. It's fine to actually go into gear. There are no fault lights.
I've spoken the garage as it's still under warranty but they tell me that it's a normal anti stall feature of the Hyundai Tuscon and isn't actually an issue. Can anyone verify if this is true statement?
I took the car to my own garage that I trust and they had never heard of that anti stall feature. They checked the engine for oil and it was overfilled with oil and they removed just over 1lt of excess oil. With hindsight I shouldn't have let them remove the oil and I should have taken it straight back to the dealership as they were the ones that serviced it. Could I have damaged the engine?
I also hear a high pitched metallic noise in the engine when I'm just cruising along at around 2000 RPM in 4th, 5th or 6th gear.
I don't have a great feeling about the car or the dealership but not sure how to get them to actually investigate the car?
Many thanks for reading.
