Default Trouble starting car, cranks won't turn over, codes

2004 xg350 with 130Kmi bought used.
Now misbehaving. Some times, usually when cold, the car will crank but not start. Some times, after it starts, it revs immediately up to 4K rpm and comes back down.
When it doesn't start, I let it rest a few minutes and try again, after a few tries it will start.
Set this code p0102 (maf or vaf a cct low input). Mass air flow is an $200+ part and I've 'cleaned' it with the spray from autozone. Problem is intermittent and I feel cold temp related.
Last night didn't start multiple times, finally started BUT ... it was in limp home mode and would only rev up to 3K rpm and top speed of 10 mph. Let car stay started and warmed up. Shut car off and restarted and problem gone. Last night episode also set P1110 (ETS system open stuck), P1174 (ETS system close stuck #2), P1196 (ETS limp home value on Close #2)
No problem today and tough to troubleshoot.
So start changing parts at big $? Start with MAF or go and replace ETS (Electronic Throttle system) which I think is more big $.

Sounds intermittant like a loose connection, a couple of things to check.

See this info, may be helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply. Already went down that path earlier but it doesn't appear to be fruitful. Hate to spend $200 since I don't know how to test the existing one but ... found a 'used' one from a junk yard but they want $125 which seems a little high when you can get a rebuilt one for $200.

I would try another junk yard. Also, I would try some different models, like a Santa Fe. Did you look on eBay, looks like they have new ones for under $200.

Thanks for the ebay idea. I ended up going to advance auto and paying the $200 as I couldn't wait for a used one from ebay.
Just want to report back that after replacing the MAF, the problem appears to have been eliminated.

Well ... the problem came back
Ughhh
I had the XG in very cold weather (in the single digits) and no problem.
Then about every other day (temperature in the 30s), same codes as shown in the original posting.
Figured that I get a used throttle body from the local junkyard ($150) and try swapping that out as I don't know whether it was the ETS motor that controls the throttle plate or the TPS sensor reporting bad stuff.
When I took off my throttle body, there was some amount of carbon on the inside but it didn't look horrendous.
The junkyard throttle body was from a 2001 XG300 and while the fitment was fine, the throttle plate operated differently.
On my 2004 XG350, the throttle plate was spring loaded and returned to closed position, the junkyard throttle body did not. I was then somewhat skeptical to put it in.
So I decided to just give the existing throttle body a good cleaning and for the past week, not a single issue!
Keeping my fingers crossed
