2008 Santa fe 3.3 l engine failure
Hello
Today I bought a 2008 Huundai Santa Fe 3.3 l at the auction 200,000 km
Perfect looking car ,well maintained inside and outside, clean carfax
I checked everything works, no issues, starts right away
As soon I left the auction after 2 km engine lost power, my foot down to floor but slow movement
All different lights go on ,check engine light, all wheel drive system, esp. Goes in reverse normal.
It was sitting at the auction for a month.
I also noticed that back wheels stop spinning when tow truck was towing it back to auction
They said they will check it out because the owner didn't declare any issues
Anyone know what this would be?Thanks

Something you might want to think about.
Do you really know anybody that had a perfectly good running ,clean and nice vehicle that just got rid of it for no good reason?
There are so many used vehicles out there that either had a problem no one could find and repair or were given an estimate that the owner just felt the vehicle was not worth that to them, so what did they do, they dumped it!! An auction house purchased it as part of a group deal , cleaned it up and got rid of it. Guess who bought the problem?
If you did not get any guaranty at the time you purchased it , now it is your problem.
If that is the case here, not knowing your level of expertise with vehicles, your better move would be to have competent shop check it out . You really should have had your shop check this vehicle before the purchase. Depending on what they find, will hopefully not cost a lot of $$$ and you may come out ahead. A thorough physical check will be required and guessing from a distance is not a good idea.
