2016 elantra surging, and stalling at low speed.
Hi all. Just looking for opinions on what could be wrong. I have searched the net long and hard and have seen several people with similar issues but no one has followed up on what the problem was. I have a 2016 Hyundai elantra 1.6l automatic. It started out by stalling with no warning while holding a speed of 30-35mph. It only happened 3 times in 2 months time so I wasn't hugely concerned. But this weekend I drove it on a trip out of town and it happened 8 times in 3 days. The difference this weekend, was that the rpm started surging and the car would jurk moderately at 30-35mph before it stalled. This only seems to happen after the car has been drove for awhile and warms up. Their are no check engine lights and the car starts right back up with no problem usually while still coasting down the road. I have not had this issue at higher speeds or rpms and do not have a problem when I put it in manual shift and keep the motor at higher rpms. I attend YouTube university daily and have a lot of knowledge in mechanics and do all of my own maintenence. So if anyone has solved this problem before or has a legit answer to my problem please help me out. Thanks.
The surging could be caused by intermittent ignition or insufficient fuel supply. The idea is to eliminate one or the other.
We don't like to go about this by replacing parts without being somewhat sure the part is the problem.
When was the fuel filter last replaced?

I honestly dont know if it ever has been changed. I just bought the car in December. I pulled the car fax with maintenence records and their is no record of it being changed. I'll add that the car is right at 100,000 miles.
I will check the low side fuel pressure to eliminate that first. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it should read close to 70psi from what I have researched. I also have an Autel auto link al519 code reader that has live data. Do you know if it is possible for me to read the high side pressure with it? And if all that checks out, where do you recommend me starting to find out if I have an ignition problem and how would you recommend me checking it?
Anytime you by a used vehicle , it is a wise move to replace plugs, oil and filter and all filters so "you know" what was done and when .If possible keep a maintenance log of at least showing what was done and when.
If you can , post the data stream info at the time all is well and when the problem shows up. Maybe we can examine what is going on and suggest some things that would help. Can you do this?
