Morning,

looking for help with my sante fe trunk/tailgate not opening.

Troubleshooting so far:
Checked fuses seem good
Looked in truck for trunk lock, couldn't find one
I can go in through the rear seat and manually unlock it.
This doesn't have smart gate, its a base model.

I can't use my key or handle to open. I've never been able to use the trunk key to automatically open but now the handle doesn't work either. The owner manual is useless and I had to schedule an appoint with Hyundai to get it fixed and its not under warranty for a 2 year old car with 43k miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

I really do not know exactly what is inside the rear door, but usually if the handle is operable a link may have come off. You would need tor remove the interior covering to see it.

 

Hello. Same problem. Out of warranty on 2018 santa fe sport without automatic liftgate. Nothing clicks when you press on the handle. Did you fix yours? Thanks
