Help, I have a 2002 ELANTRA that has a crazy shift sequence. The car has 89000 mi, purchased 8 months ago was running fine. About 2 weeks ago I parked on a very steep hill, nose down hill, and had to set parking brake. When I left forgot e-brake as I am not used to setting it. After about 400 to 500 ft I stopped and disengade brake and came on down the hill. Stopped at bottom and then pulled out onto main road.
At this time I noticed the car did not shift, had high rpm, after a short while it did shift,MAN DID IT SHIFT, thought tranny feel out, check engine light came on,pulled to side of road and turned off and restarted, every thing was ok , light off and shifting fine. It did it a couple of times more and then took it to shop,they found code that said sensre detected differential on speed sensor, they reset computer as they thought it was from having parking brakr on and driving.
Today, going down interstate at 75 miles an hour it decides to down shift into second gear. Pulled over and restarted, run home ok. anyone know whats up? thanks for reading
