Default Hyundai Santa fé 2013 Problem with system pcv

Hello everyone, I have a Hyundai Santa Fé, and it is showing an anomaly where whenever I activate the PCV valve the engine consumes 1 liter of oil in less than 50 km, the car emits a lot of smoke and works poorly, but if I block the pcv valve, it runs well but consumes half a liter of oil every thousand kilometers

Sounds like your PCV valve might be causing the problem. Try replacing the valve with a new one, which is usually cheap and easy to do. If you don’t want to buy a new one, you can clean the current valve by taking it out and spraying it with carb cleaner to remove any gunk. Also, check the hoses connected to the PCV valve to make sure they aren’t clogged. This should help with the oil consumption and smoking issues. Give it a try and see if it helps!

Hello
I already changed the PCV valve, and the problem persists, in fact the engine works better if the valve is blocked, whenever I install a good valve the engine consumes a lot of oil

It’s strange. If the engine works better with the valve blocked, it could mean there’s too much pressure in the crankcase, which might be pushing oil into the intake. This could be due to worn piston rings or a clogged breather system. For now, if blocking the valve reduces oil consumption and the engine runs smoother, you could leave it blocked, but keep an eye on it because it’s more of a temporary fix. If the issue gets worse, it might be a sign that something else needs attention.
