Old but new
I am a retired mechanic old to working on cars but new to some advanced technology. Hopefully you more experienced will educate an old guy like myself. I am glad to be here and believe you don't stop learning until you qquit breathing.
This is a great place to hang out. A lot of the concerns are still answered by yesterday's experience.
There is a gentleman who frequents this forum and he will know as soon as he reads what I have learned from him.

I like to your attitude. Learning new stuff keeps the brain going. They call it brain plasticity.
Now here is the question what exactly is "new" to you? Reading OBDII codes? What is old to you? Carburetors?
"It is important to know the difference between accurate and precise, even if you are neither!"

The next new thing is learning about electric cars
They seem to be the new "IN" thing
But, have heard, no oil changes, no transmission, almost no maintenance
Going to be a tough time being a mechanic
Still the infrastructure for supporting travel with electric car isn't quite up to ICE vehicles
So, it makes long distance travel to be a big challenge.
The Hybrid cars with their electric and gasoline engines seem to be the way to go for now.
