hi

does anybody know if you need a master key with a 05 2.o petrol santa fe.I had a 01 model the ecu went and i had no master key the garage said they could not repair it without the key.They put in a secondhand one and that blew other things .They want 3500 euros to put in a new ecu and smart box plus 1000 euros for work already done.Do i have to pay 1000 for a car they c'ant fix?I'm now looking at a 05 model and the garage tell me i d'ont need a master key. any ideas?

 

I don't really know for sure, but I can tell you they sell ECUs for cheap on eBay and never mention a "key". Maybe you can get the part number and buy one on eBay and have it shipped to the Eurozone.
