Santa Fe Ltd CRTD Auto
I bought this new in June 2008 and have done 8000 miles. A problem I have had from new is engine hesitation and although it had an ECU download in Sept it did not cure the ptoblem.
I have a letter from Hyundai which states - "the occasional engine hesitation, which is emanating from your vehicle is purley a characteristic of an automatic diesel Santa Fe with four wheel drive"
They go into a long explanation of how the car utilises torque on demand, but it is most disturbing to drive in certain conditions and when in cruise control I have to be careful not to exceed the set speed after braking because when reset accel is used it changes down races up to 8/10mph aboe the set speed then cuts off and slows down again.
In 40 years of driving many automatics and several with cruise control I have never experienced such "lumpy" driving in what in all other respects is a great car.
Any helpful tips out there?
