Default 2008 Santa Fe wont unlock

Passenger Driver door wont unlock at all. I’ve tried manually unlocking the door but it bounces back to the locked position. When I hit the unlock button in the car I can hear the door make the unlock noise but it stays locked. Any tips/advice?

This may not be the best suggestion, but until we know what is happening inside the door, you might need to open up the door , removing the covering and actually see what is going on.
The solenoid that controls the lock/unlock could be stuck, or what sounds like an unlock command may not be that. What you find inside there will determine what you do next.
If everything is found to be working correctly, now you need to work back to the door switch on the driver's door or the sw on the pass door.
It makes little sense to go shooting in the dark when you don't really know just what is happening.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but can you remove the door panel while the door is closed?

Unfortunately, NO. Depending on IF you want to tackle this problem or not will determine how far we go with this.
Depending on just what system they use , if it has power windows and door locks the panels come off a little easier. You may need to remove a few hidden(snap in covers) for something like an arm rest. If it has manual window handles you will need to push the covering back on to the door to see the retaining method which could be a push out pin or a pull up C" clip.
.Once you get the panel off and determine what is or is not happening you go from there.
