I have a friend who has a 2013 Accent sedan. There is a cable that comes up from underneath the car and hooks onto a peg on the shifter handle.
It must have had some sort of clip or cap holding it on which has disappeared and the cable occasionally slides off of that peg.
Is there some sort of repair kit for that or if not any ideas of whether or not this is likely to be an expensive repair?

Difficult to provide a suggestion because w don't know exactly what you have. Can you post a picture or if you go to an auto parts store , they may be able to offer what they believe holds that assy together.
