I have a 2020 Santa Fe with only 7,000 miles. About two months ago the rear hatch (base manual type) would not unlock. This is an intermittent problem with no obvious pattern or cause and effect. I've clicked the fob buttons and the door buttons off and on, fast and slow, and nothing works. When you push on the rear hatch button it is as if it just remains locked. I've driven over rough roads to see if it is something loose but no change. Time seems to be the only factor in making the problem go away. Generally it will start working again after a couple of hours. I've taken it to the dealer but after two hours of troubleshooting they said they could not duplicate the problem. Has anyone else heard of this problem?

 

I have the exact same problem!! I’ve gone crazy and have also taken it to the dealership and nothing.

 

I have been to Hyundi multiple times regarding this issue. It is hit or miss with my hatch this last time. The guy at the counter told me I need to stick my foot under to activate it. I said I had a vehicle for three years and I’ve never once stuck my foot under it. So they suggested I change the battery because I was basically brushed off for the third time about this issue I have change the battery but now my key fob won’t work because you have to reset the whole thing so I will be doing that. It has been a total pain in the butt especially when you have an arm full of groceries and your hatchling open.
